Strength & Conditioning Course
The latest addition to our courses, the 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport, offers the first step to a career in this new and exciting field.
The course is aimed at those with an existing fitness qualification who wish to learn more about conditioning specifically for sport and also those who may wish to embark upon the strength and conditioning pathway.
The course has been developed by the RFU and is suitable for all sports and governing bodies.

Why should I study the L1CCSC?
It forms part of a structured and progressive programme of coaching and other related qualifications, offering you access and involvement in introducing others to coaching strength and conditioning for sport.
What can I use the L1CCSC for?
• To gain paid or unpaid employment as an assistant strength and conditioning coach
• As part of the development of a credible CV for employment in the sport and recreation industry
• As a stepping stone to the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport
What will I learn?
Your learning programme will develop your understanding of:
• safe and ethical coaching in strength and conditioning
• the preparation involved to deliver strength and conditioning coaching activities
• the delivery and review of strength and conditioning coaching activities
What will my assessment involve?
The L1CCSC assessment will require you to:
• complete a series of assessed tasks covering all four units of the qualification
• complete observed practical assessment of your coaching skills, taken from the practical syllabus and oral questions on aspects of your performance, underpinning knowledge, understanding and application
• complete an independently assessed task covering ethics, equality and child protection
